Feng Shui is no panacea or magic bullet. It is simply a tool to help you improve various aspects of your life that are not working for you, whether it’s your marriage, your family, your children, your job or your business.
Feng Shui Principles
All areas of life respond well to the use of Feng Shui principles – whether personal and intimate goals or broader ones such as financial well-being or improved relationships. Always begin in your bedroom, your sanctuary, and then move on to the kitchen, which is the heart of your home.
Principle One – Eliminate all energy-draining barriers, They create prosperity constipation in your surroundings. Start with all of your stacks, piles, mounds and boxes of stuff – if you haven’t used it in two years, it doesn’t fit or is broken, get rid of it.
Countertops should be 80 percent empty in kitchens and bathrooms for a proper flow of energy. Eliminate oversized furniture or reduce clutter if you have too many furniture items; these block the flow of prosperity and well-being in all rooms. And, make sure the entrance to your home is clean, welcoming and clutter free. Maintaining clutter-free surroundings is key to sustainable prosperity entering your life.
Principle Two – Create a bedroom sanctuary to embrace rest, relaxation and regeneration. Your bedroom and the kitchen are your two most important rooms when it comes to your well-being and prosperity, so treat them as royalty. Besides being free of clutter and anything that remotely resembles work or the trials and tribulations of a given day whether a troublesome boss or yelling children, these areas must be peaceful. That means eliminating the stack of unread books, the things you’ve stashed under the bed and the electronic equipment such as computers, televisions and even workout equipment.
Next, thin out your closet and dressers. Remove clothes that either went out of style five years ago or were two sizes ago. The subconscious mind hangs onto the idea that you are unsatisfied with yourself and your weight. And, get rid of most of the family pictures; you do not need all those eyes staring at you all night long.
Through pastel colors, soft edges and relaxing music create a true sanctuary that helps you forget the woes of the world, while encouraging your body and mind to relax and revitalize itself.
Principle Three – Let there be light. Encourage nurturing prosperity energy to flow throughout your home by opening curtains so it can find its way into your life. Clean the windows so it isn’t filtered or blocked, causing stagnation. In rooms with limited outside light, add torchier lamps shooting warm soft light upward. Play soothing music. Stop watching the doom and gloom on the news and read a book, watch a humorous movie, meditate, create or just sit and reflect. Each of these creates a flow of prosperity and well-being energy so it can abound in your life.
Feng Shui is a vast subject but not difficult to grasp or utilize. Think of using it the same way you would eat a triple scoop ice cream sundae. You would eat the sundae one bite at a time, savoring it and thoroughly enjoying the process. Approach Feng Shui in the same manner to avoid becoming overwhelmed; tackle one area of your life or one room of your surroundings at a time.
